OLD BUSINESS
1. Swap
Meet Update: Larry Weigum will send a copy of the advertising to the Kansas
City Star and other rural papers for the Swap Meet. Still a few more volunteers
are needed. Larry will work on signs and report at the next board meeting. Meet
will be held May 20, 21, and 22 at the Wyandotte County Fairgrounds.
- Parkville Update: Planning for the event in Parkville is going well. 26 cars are registered and we have about 10 cars coming form Colorado. We also have others coming from Oklahoma. We will have rooms available at the
Marriott Hotel. George Deel will host the out of Towner’s for the club at
the Marriott. It was decided that the club would provide decals for all
those who register to attend the Parkville Poker Run and event. The cost
of the decals is $250 and a vote was taken at the monthly membership
meeting on April 18, 2005. George Deel made the motion that the club pay
to provide the decals. The motion was seconded and a vote taken. The
motion carried without any negative votes. Lynn Lackey will have the
decals made up and ready for the Parkville event.
New Business
- Chris made an invitation for the 50th
celebration at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. And discussed this briefly,
it was not finalized.
- Other items of new business: Cost of the Christmas Dinner
is a concern of some members. After a brief discussion it was stated most
board members have not heard from the majority of the members, only a few
have expressed their thoughts. Next item of discussion was the Heart Of
America License Plates. Lance Burton and Chris Launer will work on
obtaining pricing for these. Chuck is going to take digital pictures of
the clubs merchandise and put it on the web site for people to be able to
view what is available. George Deel made a motion to have the sunshine
report as part of the web site along with Braking News of interest to club
members on events and other club news. Lynn Lackey seconded the motion and
the motion carried. Look for these two items on the web site soon. ]
St. Jude’s Wheels for Healing moved the event to the
Ameristar Casino and the agreement was that there would not be any outside
venders allowed. This was a good fundraiser for the club in 2004 but we will
not a part of it in 2005.
