OLD BUSINESS

  1.  The board received an updated report on the Union Station swap meet car show. Jim Spawn stated that this a whole new event, from Parkville, and the challenges in front of us was to make a revenue source for our club, one obstacle is that we will not be able to charge for parking, however we will be able to sell concessions and still have the pancake breakfast. Can still charge for swap meet spaces, will be able to sell a bundle of tickets to Union Station attractions, includes all except for the theater.  Other ideas was the sale of T Shirts, decals etc.  They will be opportunity to display cars in front of Union Station, a total of 84 spaces, for Model A’s only, having a picture taken of the group, and this will be a chargeable event bringing in revenue.  Also a strong possibility of having Ford Motor  bringing the 20 millionth Ford produced to Union Station, and on Sunday having this car in front of the WWI memorial for a picture taking ceremony, this very same car was here in 1931 with a picture of it in front of the WWI memorial, do this would be a recreation of that historic moment in 1931.  Chris asked Jim to give him some areas that he needs support in  so we can start organizing work details.

  1. Budget. Chuck Haber went over last years budget, and as he went over it decisions were make to either increase or decrease different areas where money was spent. Motion made to accept new budget, carried on unanimous vote.
  2. Discussion of moving the meeting placed to North Kansas City, for a trial to be announced at the next meeting.  Information is to be passed out on directions etc. at the next meeting.  Following through on the announcement after discussion concerning different aspects of pros and cons from board members.  It will be shown next meeting that this location will be more geographic center for the population of the Heart of America Model A Club.
