HEART OF AMERICA MODEL A FORD CLUB

Board Meeting-Agenda
November 7, 2006

CALL TO ORDER

Approval of the October Board Minutes: Motion to accept made by Lynn Lackey, second made by Lance Burton, motion carried

· Those in attendance at the November board meeting were: Chris Launer, Jim Shaw, Ed Muntz, Lance Burton, Chuck Haber, Glen Spielbusch, and Lynn Lackey.

STANDING REPORTS

1. Publications Director: Lynn Lackey passed out the Heart of America board members job descriptions.

2. Membership Director: Lance reported that only about 12 to 18 have renewed their membership for 2007.

3.Activities Director: Glen reported that he has the needed dangle bars for the Christmas Dinner. Also mentioned the tour to Plattsburg on Dec 2,2006. Details were passed out.

4. Treasurer: Chuck Haber passed out the financial reports for the month, motion to accept by Ed Muntz, second by Jim Shaw, motion carried.

6. Other Reports Not Listed: Chris stated that 18 have signed up for the Christmas Dinner so far. Jim Shaw reported that plaques and awards were ordered and the clock for the Belger award had been purchased. Lynn said that to make sure that the Husband and Wife name were on the plaques for outgoing members of the board. Lynn brought up getting us listed in the Kansas City Star newspaper, and Lance said he was working on it. There was discussion on recognizing past members that have passed away. It was reported that two hotels had been eliminated from the list, and the committee is going to meet again on Wednesday to make the selection. There was some discussion on the new club formed, and the consensus of the board was to give the new club our blessings. On ideas to spur more activity on tours: Jim brought up the point system that the Plymouth club used, Glen suggested the idea of providing lunch, pay some amt of the overnight hotel expense. Ed said we need to appeal in some way to the younger generation, to draw them to an interest in Model A’s. The board members will be serving the Thanksgiving Dinner at the next membership meeting. Chuck said we need to vote on the by laws change and published for two newsletters. At the next membership meeting Chris will announce the slate for new board members and ask for any nominations from the floor.
