August 2007
CALL TO ORDER
Approval of the July 2007 Board Minutes: Motion to accept
by Lance Burton, and a second by Jim Shaw. Motion passed.
· Those in attendance at the July board meeting were:
Chris Launer, Jim Shaw, Ed Muntz, Lynn Lackey, Lance Burton,
guest George Deel, and Glen Spielbusch.
STANDING REPORTS
1. Publications Director: Lynn put out the newsletter early,
and requested that we approve spending an extra $25 for the
next newsletter to have two pages of color. Lance Burton made
a motion to approve the $25, and a second was made by Glen
Speilbusch, the motion passed
2. Membership Director: Lance Burton said that Joe and Hazel
Stevinson joined the club, and they have a 1928 Business Coupe.
3. Activities Director: Glen reported the rain out of the
Vail Mansion car show, and we had a good turn out for the
July picnic with 40 people and 15 Model A’s, and a couple
of modern cars. A tour of a gas station and Buffalo ranch
followed. The Peach and Wine tour had 12 Model A’s,
and 2 Shay’s. The September Bonnie and Clyde event is
moving along quite well. We are reminded that we are invited
to participate in The Plain Ol A’s fall tour October
18,19,and 20. There will be a parade in Blue Springs September
15 that is open to the club, and Jim Shaw is working on putting
together a tour to the downtown airport to see the Connie,
and tour the Garment District Museum in downtown KCMO
4. Treasurer: Chuck is out of town and emailed the financial
reports.
Other Reports Not Listed:
1. Election Committee: Was set up with Jim Shaw, Lance Burton,
and Ed Muntz, as the participating board member
2. Vail Mansion: George Deel presented the club with the
expenses of the Vail Mansion show that was canceled due to
rain.
3. Lance Burton showed the board a plaque that we could have
made up displaying the states that Model A owners could display
listing the States that they have driven their Model A’s
in. The board asked Lance to bring it to the next membership
meeting and get a vote from the club to proceed with buying
some for resale.
